2019 Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou

The 2019 Venture Week for International Elites was held in Suzhou from 10 to 12 July. The event aims to identify strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing industries, and modern service industries. Teams this year were invited from industries in the fields of biomedicine, new-generation information technology, nanotechnology applications, and artificial intelligence. Events included the opening ceremony and Expo, an innovation and entrepreneurship competition, a professional conference, a youth carnival, and individual meetings. 

Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou is an interactive platform event sponsored by the Suzhou municipal government for the introduction of high-level talent as sources of innovation and entrepreneurship. Beginning in 2009, Suzhou has focused on “Gathering Global Wisdom and Creating a Business Paradise” with the aim of attracting innovative and entrepreneurial talent in the fields of strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and service industries to Suzhou.

So far, the event has held 10 sessions, with 4737 projects and over 400 municipal-or-above-level entrepreneurial talents introduced and cultivated. Among the featured startup projects, 19 have annual sales exceeding 100 million RMB, 14 companies have become listed, and more than 5.6 billion RMB has been successfully raised. Recognized as a main source of attracting talent to the region, as the major platform of resource integration, and as the new engine of transformation and upgrading, Venture Week enjoys an excellent reputation and interest both locally and abroad.

Prior to the event in Suzhou, the Venture Week for International Elites 2019 North America Division was held on 22 May 2019 and was hosted by EcoKMC, the University of California, Irvine, and the Suzhou International Maker Center. The North American Division distributed a series of awards for outstanding competitors and invited them to visit Suzhou for the global finals. Similar events were held in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia from May to June.
